Chelsea are, according to reports, set to sign a new deal with Frank Lampard sometime in the next week. The England midfielder has taken his time to renew his existing contract and once former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho joined Inter Milan as manager, there was intense speculation that Lampard himself would follow him.
So, Mr Kevin Kyle, it would appear, is back. Having committed a number of 'sins' of which at least one was cardinal, the much-maligned Scottish lump of wood may even figure as a squad player unless he can be offloaded somewhere. But what would it take, and how much of it, for him to be accepted back in the fold, presuming he wants to be?
